What does it look like?

Never judge a book by its cover - Although housed in the building of the Greenwich Leisure LTD swimming baths once you go down the stairs to Spa LONDON you will be pleasantly surprised . It feels like you are entering a different world! Decorated in earthy, rich, muted colours there is an air of warmth tranquillity and calm.

What happens when you get there?

The Friendly reception staff take your shoes off you, then give you your robes, towels and slippers and your locker key. They then guide you to the changing rooms for you to get changed and to destress. They then advise that you go and sit in the warm hammam and relax until the therapist comes to take you to the treatment room.

What do the bedrooms look like?

This is a day spa and does not have overnight stays.

What was the food like?

There is no restaurant here but they can cater for parties and do provide complimentary herbal teas, water and fruit.

What was the Spa facilities like?

There was a large Hammam area with several other chambers including the ‘Tepidarium’(Warm room), ‘Caladarium’(Hot room), ‘Laconium’(Hottest room). There are brilliant saunas and two different types of steam room one being an aromatherapy steam room. For the very brave try the ice cold plunge pool! Not for the faint hearted! (I dipped my toe in and it went blue!) They also have monsoon showers and an ice fountain which is great for exfoliation of dead skin cells.

What were the treatments like?

The treatment rooms were beautiful. They had a very serene atmosphere. You could smell that they were burning aromatherapy oils, with soothing music and candle light this was one of the most well set up treatment rooms I had ever visited. I had the ‘Gym and Tonic’ treatment:This is a full body treatment and Spa LONDON's Signature Treatment it is designed for the post workout body. The back is cleansed, body brushed and exfoliated, then calmed with a deep tension-releasing, aromatherapy massage. A warm marine algae mask soothes aches & pains, while the legs and feet are also treated to a relaxing massage. I thought that this treatment was exceptional as it leaves the mind clear; body relaxed and skin soft, smooth & revitalised. My colleague had the Oxygen facial: 0xygen Facial: A purifying oxygenating treatment for sallow, sluggish skins, polluted by stress and modern lifestyles. This booster facial incorporates marine and plant proteins to replenish and nourish the skin, resulting in a natural, healthy glow - the perfect facial for the city dweller.

If you are looking for a day spa in London then this is a fantastic spa! We loved the way they kept the character of the old Turkish Hammam and mixed it with some modern touches. This venue is great value for money!
