Although the 16th century Lygon Arms Hotel is in a central village Cotswolds location of Broadway, it is set amongst seven acres of beautiful grounds  which include lawns, flower gardens, croquet, archery and floodlit tennis courts.
With Stratford Upon Avon to the North and Oxford to the South, the Cotswolds provide great opportunities for outdoor activities.  There are bicycles for hire and horse riding is a favourite pastime.  Nearby there is golf, carriage riding, clay pigeon shooting, trout fishing and gliding, helicopter rides and hot-air ballooning available.

The Lygon Arms has recently undergone  a massive refurbishment programme and has managed to retain lots of the original features such as timber and flagstone floors, wood panelling, doors, architraves, dados and stone mullions , all beautifully lit up.

All the 77 bedrooms of The Lygon Arms, half of them in the main house and the other half in the wings, remain sympathetic to their 500 year old history and are fitted out in a country house style. This includes six stunning suites which date back to 1532. King Charles 1st stayed here on several occasions between 1642 – 1645 and there is even a suite named after him. An unforgettable experience steeped in history! Each bedroom is comfortable and stylish with internet access, safes, trouser press and hair dryer. The sumptuously furnished lounges and snugs entice you to sit and while away the time with a glass or two of brandy whilst sitting in front of the open log fire. Additionally now the Garden Wing and Orchard Wing have air conditioning, internet access and state of the art audio systems.  

The Goblets Bistro at The Lygon Arms offers a relaxing atmosphere serving traditional English cuisine with a contemporary twist, equally as imaginative and as fresh using ingredients that are grown and reared locally including a wide range of herbs and fruits from the hotel’s own orchards.

The Lygon Arms has a wonderful fitness centre, spa bath, plunge pool, sauna and steam room and unbelievably an indoor heated pool with a roof that opens in hot weather! There is also four treatment rooms and a team of qualified therapists waiting to massage away all your aches and pains.
