Three centuries ago, Heythrop Park was the ancestral home of the Earl of Shrewsbury and it was the 12th Earl, Charles Talbot,who in the early 1770s built the majestic Hall which will serve as the focal point for the new Hotel, Golf and Country Club.The current owners have invested a lot of money to bring this historic estate back to its former glory, planting hundreds of trees, rebuilding bridges, restoring walls and monuments. Heythrop Park also has an absolutely fantastic new 18 hole championship golf course, for the golfers amongst you, who would prefer to play golf rather than be pampered on a spa break .

What does it look like?
Travelling from London the journey took us just over an hour so great for a quick spa escape and 16 miles from Oxford city centre. Heythrop Park estate is approached via a 2 mile long drive, surrounded by a championship Golf course.The Manor House itself is grandeur personified, with beautiful stained glass windows, magnificent fireplace and stone columns. Absolutely breathtaking. Sitting next to the Manor House is the newly opened 5 star hotel, the Crowne Plaza, where we were staying.What happens when you get there?
After parking the car in the complimentary car park we entered the elegant, chandeliered, vibrant Crowne Plaza hotel. We were greeted by the friendly, efficient Receptionist who quickly booked us into our room and offered to take our bags up to the room. We snatched a quick drink in the comfortable Snug Bar before heading off to the Spa. The spa is in the adjacent building a few minutes walk away or if you fancy a ride in a golf cart, door to door, you can just ask Reception who will gladly arrange this. Great fun!What do the bed rooms look like?
Stunning, modern, spacious bedrooms with grey, metallised silver and purple hues are spot on to calm, relax and refresh you. The twin rooms have 2 huge double beds and we had an excellent nights sleep on the exceptionally comfortable mattresses.They have great en-suite bathrooms with walk in showers and all spotlessly clean. Some of the rooms also boast terraces - perfect in warmer weather.What was the food like?
We dined in the uber modern Brassey Restaurant and were seated on gorgeous white leather dining chairs. Great atmosphere, great service here and lots of smiling people. The dinner lived up to expectations, with all of us trying something different from the menu. From the delicious parsnip and honey soup through to the tender lamb rump, we still managed to devour a dessert each as it was just too nice not to. We all agreed that we would eat here again if we got the chance. The next morning a great cooked buffet breakfast was served here.What were the Spa Facilities like?
The new swimming pool is 20 metres long and is maintained at a great comfortable temperature so you don't freeze when you take the plunge. The sauna and steam room are both great areas to detox and relax or just take the weight off your feet by loungimg on one of their sumptuous luxurious loungers.For those of you who enjoy a workout a trip to the spacious fully equipped Technogym is a must.What were the treatments like?
Andrea the spa therapist showed me in to one of the comfortable spa treatment rooms to undress and lie on the heated bed. She chatted to me initially and made me feel completely at ease then started to give me a facial. I had a dry patch of skin on my forehead which she went to work on using beautifully aromatic Decleor products. She cleansed my skin, applied a mask and massaged me. While waiting for the mask to work its wonders, Andrea gave me a massage of the hands and neck to fully relax me. It definitely did the trick as I wafted off to La La land. I left there feeling totally relaxed. I hasnt realised the amount that would be involved to make it all happen and if I am totally honest without their professionalism and amazing help and support I wouldn’t have had the time to do it all myself!
All the girls are so excited about our hen do at the Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park and can’t believe that we will be staying at such an amazing hotel for such a fantastic deal!!

The hotel was lovely, food really good and staff very pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend both SSS and the CP at HP.
